Take a guided tour through East Benton County Historical Museum. Hear stories of early prominent citizens, the advent of the nuclear age, and the changing river and desert landscape. Participants will view photos from an expansive archive and interact with exhibits. Admission fee of $5 is payable at the time of the tour to East Benton County Historical Museum.
710S20 Forensic Science-Death Investigation

Learn about the science of death investigations. Understand the range of deaths the coroner’s office is responsible for investigating, including natural deaths, accidents, homicides, and suicides. This class will begin with an introduction to what the Benton County Coroner’s Office does and what its investigators look for at a death scene. The class will be held in the Benton County Coroner’s Office, where you will get the inside scoop on how it all comes together. WARNING: Ages 18+ Graphic images from forensic pathology textbooks will be used in the presentation.
711S20 Explore Coyote Canyon Mammoth Site
with Gary Kleinknecht
A walking tour of the active mammoth dig site at Coyote Canyon. Participants will visit the bone lab, see exhibits of recovered bones, view and observe the dig site and wet screening station, and listen to a presentation on the history and activity of the area. Parts of this tour will be outdoors, please dress comfortably. Location information to be emailed one week prior to tour date.
Gary Kleinknecht is a retired high school teacher and currently the Education Director for the Coyote Canyon Mammoth Site tours. Gary has also served as the President for the Ice Age Floods Institute (2004-2010) and currently serves as the Vice President (2012 – current).
