No tricks in this class, just treats. Impress those little ghouls and goblins with tasty treats made from pumpkins and apples with autumn spices and fresh herbs, and infused with essentials oils for natural flavoring. Participants will create simple cookies and snacks during class. Sampling encouraged and recipes shared.

Lisa Douglas is the owner and operator of Puddle Ducks Herb Farm, LLC located in West Pasco. She has been growing and selling herbs for over 20 years. She uses them to create all natural bath products, as well as incorporating them into cooking and craft projects. She is also an advocate for using and sharing essential oils for a healthier lifestyle.

Come to this class prepared to create your own spooky house made from sugar cookies. Participants receive a kit of edible supplies and design ideas to assemble and decorate their own version of a spooky house. Ages 12+

Lisa Sanchez is the creative mastermind behind Cakes By Lisa, LLC since forming in 2017. Lisa began decorating baked confectioneries over 10 years ago and had so many requests that she decided to make it an official business. Her custom specialties include celebration cakes, decorated sugar cookies, cupcakes, and cake pops.

Come to this class to learn to make knock-off recipes from scratch with wholesome ingredients that take very little additional time to prepare and serve, and cost less per serving. Recipes shared.

Kathleen Clary-Cooke is the Coordinator, CPST-I at Safe Kids Benton-Franklin. She spent a number of years as a Pampered Chef consultant, demonstrating and cooking delicious food for party hosts and their guests. She was an active parent volunteer in Kennewick Schools until her youngest child graduated in 2018.

Enjoy two popular recipes found in many Middle Eastern kitchens: huraq osbao and om ali. Huraq osbao is a popular Syrian main dish made with lentils, pasta, fried onions, and pomegranate molasses. Om ali is an Egyptian dessert made with pastry dough soaked in milk and blended with a variety of nuts, coconut and sugar, then baked to a golden brown. Join us for delicious sampling. Marwa Jaber grew up in the Middle East, but moved from Florida to the Tri Cities a few years ago. She enjoys relaxing by the beach, traveling around the world is one of her dreams. She likes to spend time in the kitchen trying out recipes and creating new meals inspired by Middle Eastern culture. She is currently working on her master’s degree in special education.

Experience the flavor of two distinct dishes from Middle Eastern culture: Persian basmati rice with saffron, and maqrouta. Saffron, known as the most expensive food in the world, carries a distinct aroma and flavor, especially delicious with Persian basmati rice. Maqrouta is a popular Palestinian sweet pastry filled with dates or date paste, and topped with sesame seeds. Recipes provided.
